You can use GSR for shaping all kinds of knitting , from shoulders, sock heels to back of baby pants. There are several ways to do short rows – German short rows is one of them.

How to knit half fisherman´s rib

A short video tutorial on how to knit the half fisherman´s rib. We used this technique on our Bloom sweater. You can find the knitting kit here : Bloom sweater knitting kit

The technique creates a voluminous look for your knit, and looks like a mix between stockinette stitches and ribbing. Feels light and airy to wear!

The video is from the right side of the knit, row 1. Purl 1 stitch, knit one stitch from the row below (K1B), purl one, K1b until end of row. On row 2 you knit stockinette stitches across.

Repeat row 1 and 2 for as long as you like.

If you are knitting in the round you have to purl stitches on the wrong side/row 2.
